Interlibrary Loan Online Request Form

Interlibrary Loan FAQ:

What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?

ILL is when materials are borrowed from libraries that are not in the Greenwood County Library System.

What do I need?

To request an item on Interlibrary Loan (ILL), you must have a valid library card that is free of fees exceeding $5.00.

What can I borrow?

Through ILL, you may request books, microforms, and photocopies of articles. We are unable to borrow books that are less than one year old, books that are in high demand, reference books, books that we already own, CDs or DVDs.

What does it cost?

There is a charge for the postage which costs $3.50 or more. Postage fees must be paid when you pick up the book. If you fail to pick up your requested item(s), this cost will be charged to your library account.

How long does it take?

It usually takes 2-4 weeks to locate, order, and receive items.

How long can I borrow materials?

You are given a two-week borrowing period for ILLs. Since ILLs may not be renewed, please pick up your item(s) as soon as possible. This enables you to take advantage of the full borrowing period allowed. Overdue charges for ILLs are $1.00 per day, per item.

How do I request an ILL?

To request an item through ILL in person go to the Reference Desk at the Greenwood County Library, or the Circulation Desk at the Ninety Six Branch Library or the Ware Shoals Community Library Branch, and say that you want to get an ILL. We can help you fill out the form.

*There is a limit of 5 requests at one time.*

You can request ILLs through the online form above. Fill out the form as required or the request will not go through.

If you have questions, please call the Reference Desk at 941-4655.
