Teen Scene

Welcome to the Teen page.  For information on all things teen related stop by the Teen Center or call the Teen Desk 941-3031. The Teen Center is a place for all teens to be able to read, learn, and socialize.

Check out our programs below. All teen programs will take place in the Teen Center unless otherwise specified. Anime Club meets downstairs in the American Veterans Auditorium. You must be in Grades 6 - 12 to participate in Teen Programs. You can register for all programs in the Teen Center at the Main Library.

Our Collections:
  • Young Adult Fiction: Our primary collection. We focus on providing a selection of Young Adult Fiction that represents the diversity of our commuity. Genres include realistic fiction to fantasy and everything in between.
  • Young Adult Books on CD: We still offer physical Books on CD, but you can also find eAudiobooks on the Library's Libby and hoopla apps.
  • Young Adult Graphics: Here you can find your comics and graphic novels. We are currently working to expand our comics collection, with newer volumes of Marvel, DC, and Dark Horse Comics. You can find the YA Graphics collection in the right most section of shelves against the outside wall of windows.
  • Young Adult Manga: Manga is an umbrella term encompassing comics and graphic novels originating from Japan. Parents of teens just getting into manga might want to check out this article, A Beginner's Guide to Manga, from the New York Public Library. This collection is located in the clear acrylic shelves in the back right corner of the Teen Center.
  • Young Adult Paperbacks: Paperback Classics that are located in the cubbies to the left of the TV.

Calling all Anime and Manga fans!

Come hang out with the Anime Club! We will celebrate all things Japanese, so join us as we try out candy, play games, do crafts, watch anime, and more!

During August - December , we will be meeting 2-3 times a month. Sign up is not required to attend, but we might occasionally ask you to sign up for crafts so we have enough materials. Even if you didn't sign up for a craft, still come! We always watch anime together and have a great time!
