Limited and Modified Service Measures Due to COVID-19

Phase 5a: Modified

As of February 28, 2022, the Illinois State Indoor Mask Mandate will expire. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) states that “masking is a critical public health tool for preventing the spread of COVID-19, and it is important to remember that any mask is better than no mask.” The purview of the library board is that wearing a mask is strongly encouraged, but will be optional for library patrons. Library staff will continue to mask while on duty in compliance with workplace safety. It is the library board’s hope that each individual’s right to mask will be respected and that peace and safety will be maintained.

Phase 5a: Updated Service Hours

On Monday, October 11, 2021 the library announced expanded business hours. Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday & Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sundays closed.

Phase 5a: Phasing into Full Service with on demand Curbside Pickup Service

On Monday, September 30, 2021 the library issued a plan to phase into full service posted on the homepage. Expanded services were announced.

Phase 4.5: Extended Grab 'n Go Service with Reduced Curbside Pickup Service

On Monday, August 30, 2021 the library reopened the Internet Cafe on the first floor with limited capacity.

August 9, 2021

Phase 4.5: Extended Grab 'n Go Service with Reduced Curbside Pickup Service

On Monday, August 9, 2021 the library replaced the self-checkout stations on the first floor in Circulation and on the second floor in Adult Services.

On Wednesday, July 21, 2021 the library added removed the necessity to make an appointment for Curbside Pickup Service.

Phase 4.5: Extended Grab 'n Go Service with Reduced Curbside Pickup Service

On Monday, June 28, 2021 the library added limited seating options throughout the library. The Contactless Pickup Cabinet option was removed as it was not utilized. The 24 hour material return quarantine was removed.

Phase 4: Extended No-Appointment Grab 'n Go with Reduced Curbside Pick Up Service

On Monday, April 19, 2021 the library extended no-appointment Grab 'n Go hours and reduced No Contact Curbside Pick Up hours. Grab 'n Go hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every weekday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every Saturday. The library is closed on Sunday.

The library has added a Pickup Cabinet (PUC) to the lobby to provide a CONTACTLESS pickup option within the building since Curbside hours have been reduced. Curbside Pick Up Hours are from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. every weekday and 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Saturday. The library is closed on Sunday.

Phase 3.5: No-Appointment Grab 'n Go and Curbside Services

On Monday, February 15, 2021 the library reinstated Grab 'n Go hours with no appointment necessary to run in conjuction with No-Contact Curbside Pick Up. Grab 'n Go Hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The library is closed on Sunday.

Staggered hours are to support limited staff contact with the public while also providing morning and afternoon hours to the community. Curbside Pick Up hours are 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The library is closed on Sunday.

Phase 2: No-Contact Curbside Pickup Service

On Monday, November 16, 2020 the library stepped back to No-Contact Curbside Pick Up and discontinued Grab 'n Go Service due to recent Gubernatorial Covid-19 mitigation orders. Curbside Service Hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. every weekday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every Saturday. The library is closed on Sunday.

Hours are split to accomodate lunch breaks for staff.

Phase 3: Appointment-based Grab 'n Go Service

On Monday, August 3, 2020 the library began appointment-based "Grab 'n Go" library visits to run in conjuction with No-Contact Curbside Pickup Service.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2020 the library began No Contact Curbside Pick Up. Curbside Service Hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. every weekday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every Saturday. Closed on Sunday.

Hours are split to accomodate lunch breaks for staff.
