New Technology at the Library
The Fox Lake District Library has upgraded all of our adult and juvenile public computers
to new, faster “all in one units” with larger screens.
There is less wiring to deal with and more legroom for your comfort!
We’ve also inaugurated a new service that helps you scan, store and fax
letters, documents, photos and other items.
There is a fee of $1.00 for faxes to domestic telephone numbers, $1.50 for international faxes.
This service is available in the library’s public computer section
in the second floor adult reference department.
Come to the library to take advantage of this new technology!
Bulldog Buddies Sign Ups
Bulldog Buddies is a program where Grant High School students are paired up with students
in grades kindergarten through sixth to meet weekly in the library and read together.
The fall session begins the week of September 22 and lasts for eleven weeks.
Want to be a buddy? Sign up at the library by September 8th.
YA Pizza & Graphic Novel Club Tuesday, September 2 at 4 pm
The Pizza & Graphic Novel Club for young adults grades 6 through 12
meets every 1st Tuesday of the month at 4:00 pm. At the Tuesday September 2 meeting,
we will discuss the title Ultimate Spiderman Vol. 1 by Marvel. Pick
up copy of book at the front desk. Join us in the meeting room for pizza and a great discussion.
Thursday Murder Mystery Book Club
The Thursday Murder Mystery Book Club meets the first Thursday of the month at 10:30 am.
September 4th's title is The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith. Pick up a copy of the book
at the circulation desk and join us for doughnuts and discussion!
YA Wii Sports and Social Event, Wednesday, September 3rd at 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Young adults, stop by the meeting room to play Wii sportsor talk to others about sports events and sports experiences.
Library books about different sports will be available to check out too!
AARP 50+ Finances - Wednesdays, 7 - 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 10, 17, & 24
AARP 50+ Finances is a three-part financial capability program that
covers budgeting and goal setting, taking charge of credit and debt,
and developing a savings plan and protecting assets for those ages 50
and older. Registration is requested.
Needlecrafters of Fox Lake
The Needlecrafters of Fox Lake will meet Tuesday, September 2, 2014 the usual meeting was changed from the fourth Tuesday of the month at 11 a.m.
Bring your project and come craft with friends.

Looking for a knitting class that goes beyond the basics?
If you can already cast on and purl but don't know what to do next, then this class is for you!
A supply list will be provided upon registration.
Museum Adventure Pass
Did you know that you can use your Fox Lake District Library card to get free admission
at area museums and attractions? Just come to the library this summer and ask for a
Museum Adventure Pass! Museum Adventure Passes can be used at Brookfield Zoo,
Chicago Botanic Garden, Legoland Discovery Center and more!
