Summer Reading Club 2026
June 1 - August 1

Summer Reading Club is for all ages. Read and listen to library books to earn prizes.

Program starts June 1. All reading needs to be logged and prizes picked up by August 1.

2 Ways to Register

1. Come to the library and register in person
2. Online registration through the free Beanstack app on mobile devices or at this link to the Beanstack website. If you registered with Beanstack last year, you can use the same login information.

Teens in grades 6-12 can earn 2 prizes for reading 500 minutes during Summer Reading Club. There is an additional prize for reading another 500 minutes.

Kids in pre-school to 5th grade can earn 5 prizes for reading during the summer. Each prize is earned after 100 minutes of reading. There is an additional prize that can be earned by reading an extra 500 minutes.

Adults aged 18+ who sign up are eligible to earn some great prizes! Simply sign up and track the number of books you read. You may read or listen to any adult material from the library.

• The first 200 people to read 5 books will receive a book-themed notebook with pen.
• The first person at each branch to read 10 books will get a JayC gift card.

Adult Grand Prizes:
At the end of the summer, all participants who read at least 1 book will be entered into a drawing for the following prizes:

• A bag of books for one person at each branch
• A gift card to Xscape Movie Theatre
• Gift cards to various restaurants

Babies

Babies aged 0-23 months can earn a free board book when they have 30 picture books read to them. The picture book titles that are read will be logged on a paper from the library or logged in the Beanstack app.

Cultural Pass is not a required part of Summer Reading Club.

The Cultural Pass App is where family units can browse and search the full calendar of events, build their personal Cultural Pass schedule, get reminders, and check in.

This admission-free program supports and encourages summer learning by providing free access and programming to over 45 Louisville and Southern Indiana arts, cultural, science, nature, and heritage institutions. The program in for people aged 0-21 years and their family. It runs from May 30 - August 9, 2026. Those who live in Jefferson or Bullitt Counties in Kentucky or Clark, Floyd, or Harrison Counties in Indiana, can download the Cultural Pass App on to their phone. Those unable to download and use the app may visit the library for accessibility information.
