Fall Fun for Little Kids & their Families

Challenge: 
Decorate a pumpkin (real or faux) to look like a character from a book. 
Families are welcome to work together on a pumpkin!  

Dates: 
Patrons of any age may bring their decorated pumpkins to the library any time between now & Tuesday, 10/29/2024.  
Patrons may vote for their favorites starting 9 a.m. Wed., 10/30 until 8 p.m. Thurs., 10/31. 

Pumpkin Patch Display: 
We will display your pumpkins throughout the library for community viewing during the month of October!

Prizes: 

Participants/Family teams will receive a small token of appreciation and certificate the first week of November.

*All pumpkins are required to be picked up by Friday, 11/1 or they will be disposed at close of business*

 

Friday Storytimes

...for ages 2-5 with a caregiver.

September 6th through November 22nd, 10-10:30ish

NO registration required for fun stories, songs, and activities with Mrs. Erinn & friends :)

Spooky Family Evenings

October 30th & 31st, 6-7:30 p.m.

Join us for seasonal stories & crafts as well as dim lights in the Children's Area for flashlight tag.

This is a self directed event- NO registration required.

Celebrate Smokey’s 80th Birthday by joining the FCPL Smokey the Bear Reading Challenge.

We hope to engage youth in reading about wildfire prevention, forests, and natural resource careers while they explore their local environment.

Read books, take action, and have fun!  And remember…only you can prevent wildfires.  (& receive cool prizes all while helping Smokey!)

Did you know that Fluvanna County Public Library patrons are able to easily request & pick up a pre-selected books for their children by completing this simple online form below? This is a great way to encourage reading at home & on the go!

A Book Bundle consists of 3-10 books specifically geared towards your child's reading level and likes.  These bundles will keep your child engaged, learning, and eager to return to the library for more reading adventures.

Please allow up to 24 hours for requests to be bundled Monday-Thursday. Request made on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday may not be bundled until the beginning of the following week.  You will receive a call when your order is ready for pick up.
