AARP Tax-Aide

Status as of 2/28/21:
The AARP Foundation TaxAide program in Central Virginia will open its PVCC site for appointments only on Thursday March 4. This site will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00-4:00p and Saturdays from 9:00-1:00p. Appointments can be made by clicking this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040C45ABA823A3F58-pvcc1.

You must provide an email address and phone number when you sign up. An email will be sent to you with instructions and forms to complete. You are requested to bring these completed forms to your appointment.

New this year, due to the covid pandemic, is a dropoff tax return preparation process. The dropoff appointment process begins with ID verification, document review and an interview with a tax counselor. Your tax documents will be retained at the site for return preparation and quality review. You will be given an estimated time for the completion of your return and an second appointment for review and signature(s) prior to e-filing. If you are filing a joint return, both parties must be present to sign the return at that time. All tax documents will be returned to you upon completion.

Plans are underway to open our site at The Center, but the date is still to be determined.

Fluvanna County Library is OPEN
We are excited to announce that the Fluvanna County Library is open for express services (computers, browsing, and checkout) – no appointments needed.

Building capacity will be limited and patrons are strongly encouraged to limit their time in the building.  There will be limited seating in the library.
• Social distancing is strongly encouraged!
Face coverings are required for anyone that is medically able and over age 5 and strongly encouraged for anyone over 2.
Curbside delivery continues.
All items should still be returned in the outside bins - except for puzzles which can be brought to the desk or left outside the door.
All items will be quarantined for 2 days
• Items are returning to 2 week and 4 week checkout periods and checkout limits of 10 DVDs and 3 videogames at a time are reinstated.
Fines are still suspended.  Charging for printouts and copies will start again.
• The Kids Craft Room, Conference Room, Local History, and Meeting Rooms are ALL CLOSED to the public.
• If you are feeling ill please utilize our curbside pickup service or visit us another day.

Limited Capacity – current health guidelines limit the number of people who can be in the library at one time.  If we reach this limit, some patrons may be asked to wait outside or in their cars until they can be admitted.

Donations are welcome - however please wait until April 5 if possible.

We have missed everyone and ask you to please be patient with staff as we work to establish our new workflow with both in-person and curbside delivery.  THANK YOU!
