The East Albemarle Regional Library is pleased to present eBooks for our customers to borrow. 3M Cloud Library eBooks can be read on an IPad, or IPhone, Android-based tablet or phone, Nook tablets (Nook HD, HD+, Nook Color) or windows based computer or laptop, or a MAC. 3M Cloud Library eBooks can also be transferred from a windows-based computer to an eReader device such as Nook, Sony or Kobo.

In order to check out eBooks from the 3M Cloud Library, you must install the 3M Cloud Library software on your computer or the 3M Cloud Library app on your IPad or IPhone, android-based tablet or phone or Nook tablet in order to check out and read eBooks. You will need your 14 digit library card barcode number and a password. This password will be same as the PIN that you use to access our online catalog for placing holds and checking your account. If you have never used this feature of our online catalog, please call or stop by the library to receive a PIN for your library account. This PIN will be the password for your 3M Cloud Library account. For more information, please stop by your local library, or click here.

Provides online access to articles (many full-text) from newspapers, magazines, journals and encyclopedias using authoritative, searchable databases. Useful Website links and electronic books are also available. Use in the library or log on from any work, school, or home computer with Internet access using a password provided by the library.

Beginning or professional genealogists can access Ancestry.com - the largest collection of family histories on the Web. Also includes U.S. census records, genealogy links, family trees, and printable family tree chart forms. Use at a library Internet computer.


Beginning or professional genealogists can access original page images for all documents - a collection of over 25,000 family and local histories, and U.S. census records. Log on at a library, work, school, or home Internet computer using your valid library card number.


Online interactive academic and career practice tests and skill-building courses (i.e., SAT, Real Estate, English for Spanish speakers, etc.). Correct answers are provided for your test score results. Create your own private account using your valid library card number. Use in the library or from any work, school, or home computer with Internet access.
