Museum Passes Policy
- Must be a Harrison resident 18 years of age or older.
- Must present a valid Photo ID and Harrison Library card in good standing (no fines).
- It is recommended that passes be requested the day before your museum visit.
- Passes cannot be picked up earlier than date requested.
- Passes are reserved on a first come first serve basis.
- Passes are loaned from the day before the scheduled museum visit until the first day the Library is open after the visit.
- Passes cannot be renewed.
- Patrons can only reserve one pass at a time.
- There will be a forty dollars ($40) cash deposit required when picking up the passes. If the pass is returned ON TIME then the forty dollars ($40) will be refunded.
- If the pass is not returned ON TIME then the forty dollars ($40) cash deposit will NOT be refunded.
- Lost or damaged passes will be billed to the patron at the replacement rate determined by the museum.
- Passes must be returned to the library, they cannot be left in the book drop.
- Failure to pick up passes at the reserved date and time will result in a canceled reservation and the passes will be given to the next person.
- Patrons are responsible to verify museum hours, days of operation, directions, parking availability, and cost or charges for special exhibits.
- Some museums reserve the right to ask for your library cards

How do I reserve the pass?
It can be reserved in person at the library or by telephone at 973-483-2366
Is there a charge to reserve a pass?
There is no charge to reserve the museum pass but you must leave a $40.00 cash deposit when you pick up the pass, except for the American Museum of Natural
History.* The deposit will be refunded when the pass is returned ON TIME. If the pass is not returned ON TIME, a fine of $10 per day will be charged. If the pass is stolen or lost, you may be charged a replacement cost.
Who can reserve a pass?
You must live in Harrison and have an Adult Library card in good standing to place a reservation.. A pass cannot be reserved with a child's card. This is also the case for the American Museum of Natural History vouchers.
How many people are admitted to a museum per pass?
It depends on the pass. Call or visit the library for more information.
What is the "Day of Use"?
Day of use is the day you plan on visiting the museum. The pass can be picked up beginning at noon the day prior to the "Day of Use" and MUST be returned by 11
a.m. the day after the "Day of Use" except for the American Museum of Natural History*.
Can I cancel my reservations?
Reservations can be cancelled. Please let the library know of a cancellation as soon as possible since others may want to use the museum pass for that day.

"Day of Use"except for the American Museum of Natural History*
Do I need my library card to pick up the pass?
Yes, you MUST present the library card that you used when reserving the pass to pick it up.
Where do I return my pass?
The pass must be returned to the Main Desk (DO NOT PUT IN BOOKDROP) by 11a.m. after the Day of Use. If the library is closed, then by ll a.m. on the next day the library is open, except for the American Museum of Natural History.*
*The pass for the American Museum of Natural History is now a Voucher. You do not have to leave a deposit or return the pass. You are allowed 2 vouchers per adult library card per year.
