Donation Guidelines & Details


PROGRAM SUMMARY

Program Runs for the Months of March and September Only

Non-Perishable Food Items Only (Undamaged, not expired, unopened donations.)

1 Item = $1.00 Waived

Maximum $15 Waived Per Card, Per Program Run

Applies to Overdue Fines Only (Not applicable to Lost or Damaged Fees.)


 

PROGRAM  OUTLINE

Visit the Main Circulation Desk and we will help you with your account.

This program runs for the entire month of September. All are welcome to donate!

1. Present the library card that has a balance.

a. If you do not have your card, a photo ID can be used in its place.

b. Replacement cards fees are waived during the month of September as it is Library Card Sign Up Month!

2. Donations must be non-perishable, unexpired, and free from damage.

a. Expiration dates must extend beyond one month of event's final day.

3. Each accepted item removes $1.00 of overdue fines from account balances.

a. A maximum amount of $15.00 will be waived from the overdue fines balance during each program month.

Donations do not affect Lost or Damaged fees, however it is Library Policy that:

"Lost fees for items returned in good circulating condition within 6 months of the item being marked lost in the system and have not been replaced will be waived. The Patron is still responsible for overdue fines."

  • Stuffing
  • Applesauce
  • Cooking Oil
  • Crackers
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly
  • Household items such as facial tissues, toilet paper, paper towels
  • Hygiene items such as shampoo, deodorant, soap, etc.
  • Feminine products
  • Any undamaged, unexpired nonperishables

What's Not Accepted

• Damaged Items  • Expired Items • Perishables

As you are gathering your donations, please remember that we can only accept those items that are shelf-stable, unexpired, and undamaged.


Please Do Not

  • Do not leave donations by the front or staff entrances.
     
  • Do not put donations in the library's walk-in or drive-up book return chutes.
