Loan Periods, Renewals, and Fines
Library privileges are revoked when account balances reach $25.00 or greater.
The Library makes a reasonable effort to ensure that notice of overdue items is received, but it is sent as a courtesy and failure to receive notice will not be cause for removal of fines. For your convenience, you may pay online via the MY ACCOUNT portal.

*Item can be renewed once as long as there are no holds by other patrons on the item.
Other Fees
Replacement of Library Materials
Library patrons will be charged the current retail price for lost or badly damaged library materials. No replacement or processing fees are charged by the Fox Lake District Library. The library will not accept replacement items purchased by the patron. If the lost or badly damaged library material is an Interlibrary loan, processing fees are at the discretion of the lending library.
Damaged Items
A fee will be charged for items returned to the library in damaged but repairable state. The amount charged will be at the discretion of the Circulation Manager. Full replacement cost will be charged for items returned in severely damaged condition. Damaged items that are paid for will be returned to the patron paying for the damage. The library will not accept replacement items purchased by the patron. No replacement or processing fees are charged by the Fox Lake District Library but if the lost or badly damaged library material is an Interlibrary loan, processing fees are at the discretion of the lending library.

Library Cards
Original library cards are issued to residents free of charge; a fee of $2.00 is charged for the replacement of lost, stolen or destroyed cards. The library will replace free of charge library cards which have become worn or damaged in normal use.
Patron Delinquencies at Other Libraries
Fox Lake District Library residents with delinquencies at any other public library will be required to return to that library to settle the delinquencies. The Fox Lake Public Library will also cooperate with other public libraries by withholding issuance of library cards to patrons with delinquencies at other libraries who have requested this courtesy.
Checks Returned Due to Insufficient Funds
The library will charge a $35.00 fee for all checks returned to it due to insufficient funds in the payer’s account. In all such cases, cash only will be accepted from the responsible patron for all future transactions.
