How do I get a library card?

We now  have a form you can fill out online! 



Library users must present a valid library card to check items out. (At this time we are taking names and not handling your library card)

Residents in Stephens County may register for a free library card by presenting a photo ID, and  proof of current address. 

Out of county residents may receive a card for a onetime fee of $25.00 per family.
Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Patrons will be responsible for all items checked out on his/her card.
Patrons must immediately notify the library if his/her card is lost or stolen.
Please keep contact information up to date on your account.
Accounts overdue by 45 days or more may be reported to a library collection agency and a $10.00 fee attached to the account at that time.

Children age six or older may have their own card with a parent or guardian's current card.
Parents or guardian will be responsible for all items checked out on the hcild's card as well as any fines or charges on that card.

The library must be immediately notified if the card is lost or stolen.

The signature of a parent or guardian acknowledges full responsibility for library material checked out to the child.  It is the policy of the library not to act in loco parentis in keeping with the principles of equal access to information and materials.  Therefore, the library will not restrict any customer, including children from access to any type or class of information from the library.
