To Invest in our Future—For The Children — For The Community

  • Why is the library asking for a millage increase?
To continue to provide our services, the libraries need your support. Millage increase will help us continue to provide computers, eBooks, programming, free children's activies, and the use of ancestry.com to our community at no cost.
  • What will happen if the millage passes?
Expansion of children's and young adult programming during each month. Continued and expanded internet access (free internet courses). Additional senior and adult programming.
  • What will happen if the millage does not pass?
ALL LIBRARIES WILL BE AFFECTED.
(Hazen & Des Arc Libraries) Loss / reduction of: library hours of operation, programming, computers, free wifi, eBooks, books, and DVD's.
THE DEVALL'S BLUFF LIBRARY WILL CLOSE.
  • How does millage increase on real state work?
House valued at $30,000 x 20% = Assessed Valuation $6,000
$6,000 assessed value x 1 mill (.001) = $6.00 increase for taxes per year.
House valued at $60,000 x 20% = Assessed Valuation $12,000
$12,000 assessed value x 1 mill (.001) = $12.00 increase for taxes per year.
This will also affect the amount paid on personal property taxes by 1 mill (.001)

Ward - Little Lending Library

The Ward Public Library is excited to announce the opening of their little lending library. The Ward lending library is supplied with books and VHS tapes which the community is encouraged to take or swap with a book you'd like to leave in return. The Ward Public Library would like to express thanks to everyone who made this possible. The Ward Chamber Of Commerce gave the library permission to put the lending library on Chamber property and the City Of Ward provided an employee to help with installation. The library would also like to thank patron Michelle McLaughlin for painting the little lending library.

Visit the little lending library at the Ward Chamber Of Commerce building located at 80 W. 2nd St. Ward, Arkansas 72176. If you like our program, please call the Ward Public Library at 1-855-572-6657 Ext. 800.
