In cheerful rhyme, a small boy tells how Daddy takes him to eight different sporting events, including golf and horse-racing; but best of all is when they go to the park together to play catch. Bright, cartoon-like illustrations evoke the adult world of sport; the didactic point is pleasantly muted. Copyright ŠKirkus Reviews, used with permission.

Fiction: PB A boy enjoys attending various sporting events with his father, but he most enjoys their time alone playing catch in the park. The monotonous thumping verse is somewhat mitigated by lively, cartoonlike illustrations. Horn Rating: Recommended, with minor flaws. Reviewed by: mbs (c) Copyright 2010.
