Minutes of Meeting
June 27, 2013

Because a quorum was not present, no votes were taken at this meeting.
 
Laconia Public Library Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting in Volpe Room.
Chairman Bob Selig called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
Present: Lois Juris; Glenn Smith; Director Randy Brough  
Not Present:  James Anderson; Kimberly Danosi; John Perley; John Moriarty; City Council
Liaison Brenda Baer
 
Lois Juris has retired from her teaching position at Elm Street School. Today is her last meeting as a LPL Trustee.
 
Trustees and Director want to thank all volunteers who have worked so diligently to beautify library grounds. Library will invite Opechee Garden Club, CBH Landscaping and Library Volunteers to a cookout/luncheon later in the summer.
 
 Parking lot has been freshly striped.
Work has been completed on the slate roof: missing slates replaced; stained slates cleaned; copper ridge line re-attached.
 
Vic Reno (Reno Engineering and Light Design) will be at the library Tuesday morning to assess the lighting (or lack thereof) in the Periodical Room. Vic was recommended by Peter Stewart.
 
Teen Room signage has been installed.
 
Two soft comfortable vinyl chairs, with attached work surfaces, have been received. Some assembly will be required.
 
Library to Library walk was a success, drawing about 135 participants. In recent weeks Goss attendance has risen from 4-5 people per day up to 10 people a day.
 
Library sponsored wildflower walk was held last Friday at Gunstock. A dozen participants enjoyed a hike around Cobble Mountain with wildflower expert John Cameron.
 
Trustees suggested that Library purchase a pass for the SEE Science Center in Manchester.
 
Next meeting July 25 at 5:00pm.
 
Meeting adjourned 4:50p.m.
