VOTED:  Minutes of regular meeting December 1, 2011. Motion: Brock; Second: Perley. Unanimous.
 
VOTED: November, December 2011 expenditures approved. Motion: Moriarty; Second: Perley. Unanimous. [Finance]
 
VOTED: To allocate from Building Maintenance line of operating budget $2505.40 for the purchase and storage of carpet to be installed in Teen, Periodical rooms. Motion: Brock; Second: Juris. One opposed. [Director’s Report]
 
VOTED: To approve application for a Moose plate grant to fund repair of stain glass windows in Main Street stairwell and to accept the grant if awarded.  Motion: Moriarty; Second: Brock. Unanimous. [Director’s Report]
 
 
Laconia Public Library Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting in Volpe Room.
Chairman Bob Selig called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
 
Present: Daylon Brock; Lois Juris; John Moriarty; John Perley; Director Randy Brough  
Not Present: James Anderson; Marilyn Lynch; City Council Liaison Brenda Baer

Finance:
November, December 2011 expenditures approved. Motion: Moriarty; Second: Perley. Unanimous
 
Chairman’s Report:
Bob mentioned Laconia Links, City Manager’s weekly report to the community. Director will make sure all Trustees are receiving the report, and will suggest the inclusion of a story about Lakes Region History Online. Trustees will be elected by City Council in the spring: Bob and John Perley to fill the remaining two years of their terms; Olie and Marilyn are up for re-election.
 
Director’s Report:
Board voted to approve payment of $2505.40 for purchase and storage of carpet to be installed in Teen, Periodical rooms. Payment to come from Building Maintenance line of operating budget. Motion: Brock; Second: Juris. One opposed.

Lakes Region Online now holds nearly 3600 records, 1500 from LPL collections. The database has been searched over 8500 times in the past year.
 
New Laconia Historical and Museum Society exhibits:
“Perceptions & Celebrations of Laconia’s Native American History” at Main Library.
“Getting Around Town on the Laconia Street Railway” at Goss Reading Room.
 
Thursday, February 9 @ 7:00p.m. in Laconia Rotary Hall will be a program by Carol Anderson, author of the recently published History of Gunstock.
 
Next meeting: February 23: Presentation by Laconia Savings Bank Investment Trust Services.
