The Library's Reference Desk is located on the second floor of the college library. There are a variety of ways that you can receive reference assistance. Help is available every hour that the library is open. The User Resources Librarian and the Reference staff assist researchers with inquiries ranging from factual questions to complex research topics.
In-Person Reference/Research Consultations
The User Resources Librarian and the Director of Library Services are available to help individuals with research and with using the library. In addition, the User Resources Librarian and the Director of Library Services offer individualized research consultations. These consultations can be the first step in planning your research and finding information on your topic for projects big and small. Research consultations are an excellent opportunity to get individualized help from a librarian in finding and using reference books, electronic databases, the library's online catalog, and other resources
Subject area faculty may request a member of the library faculty to present a subject-specific lecture informing students about resources accessible to them from the college library. In order that the librarian presenting the material can be adequately prepared faculty are encouraged to request the lecture at least one-week in advance of the date the lecture is to be presented. Reservations may be made through the director’s office (487-7110) or the office of the User Resources Librarian (487-7120).
