New Patron Policy

NEW PATRON POLICY:

A new patron must provide a form of identification, preferably with a photo, a birthdate or driver's license number, and a current address.

Applications for minor children ages 5 to 17 must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Parent or legal guardian must provide identification at the time of application. Check the parent’s own record for fines and lost books at this time. In case there are lost books or fines over two dollars on a parent’s record, do not accept the child’s application until this matter is taken care of. Take fines off immediately when they are paid, and then show the computer screen “00” to the person paying.

Adults must fill out their own applications. If someone wishes to apply for someone other than himself/herself, send the application home to be signed by the responsible party who is applying for the card.

It is important to make sure that the application is not a duplicate. This may require asking for a maiden name, a middle initial, etc.

Patrons may check out up to 20 items on one card.
