Mitchell, never a thin child, relishes eating, basking in the joy of homemade food and baked goods. As her home becomes un-stable, her reliance on creating and eating food increases, as does her weight. Food is love, safety, and a steady companion. As she eventually becomes a food blogger, food remains a constant for Mitchell even as she realizes her health could be at stake. After finally managing to lose weight, she discovers that she's still not happy and retains many of her previous issues. Her memoir is a poignant and compelling story about learning to love herself and food. With a narrative that reads like fiction, the audio performance by the author is outstanding as she tells a wonderful and important story. VERDICT Anyone who enjoys listening to stories of other people's personal journeys will enjoy this. ["While...the reader will get frustrated with Mitchell's failures, she will give hope to those starting their weight-loss journeys and help others who are already on that path," read the review of the Clarkson Potter hc, LJ Xpress Reviews, 2/19/15.]-Nicole A.
