Spring is here – although it may not feel like it yet! It’s time to get out and make a visit to the Library. We’ve got new books arriving weekly and a calendar full of fun events to keep you informed and entertained.
Join Miss Molly for Spring Story Times. We’ve got morning Story Times on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the littlest ones and Monday afternoon Story Times for older children ages 3 – 6. Homeschoolers are invited to our bi-weekly Homeschool Story Times on Wednesday afternoons. Find the Story Time that fits best with your child and your schedule; all are welcome. Teens can join our new Dungeons & Dragons Club or drop in to Hungry Readers to talk books, play games, make crafts and talk books. Looking for something to do over the school break? Visit the library to go on a Butterfly Scavenger Hunt or drop in for Board Game Day.
Our Harwinton Grows Seed Library is open for the season and packed full of flower, herb, fruit and vegetable seeds to get your garden growing. Gardeners of all skill levels are invited to our bi-monthly discussion group Let’s Talk Gardening. Get tips, ask questions, and share your knowledge – and maybe your cuttings! Our Annual Plant, Book & Bake Sale will be here before you know it. Visit us on Saturday, May 18 from 9:30 – 2 for tasty treats, great books, and unbelievable bargains on plants, shrubs and trees for your yard and garden.
Our spring special programs invite you to learn about New England’s pirate past and celebrate Mom with a Tea & Chocolate party. Learn about the Sweet History of Honey and enjoy a delicious honey tasting. We’ll welcome special guests like Connecticut’s Beat Poet Laureate, Patricia Martin, and have Story Time with an opossum and a llama. Check out our Events Calendar to see the full listing of upcoming events. We can’t wait to see you at the Library!
