Search Engines for Kids

  • Ask for Kids - Similar to the adult version of Ask.com.  Lets you search using plain English.  Database is not very large, but it tries to enhance visitors' chances of a successful search by providing matches from meta-search partners.

  • KidsClick! -- Young surfers can search by keyword or browse through categories.  Roughly designed in Dewey style without the Dewey decimal numbers, each site contains a synopsis, reading level, and a numerical count of illustrations.

  • OneKey -- This "kid safe search engine" filters out sites that do not meet U.S. Network TV Standards for decency.  More than 500 categories provide hours of safe surfing.
