Youth Services Supervisor (Professional II) – Fulltime 
Annual Salary: $38,000 plus excellent benefits to include health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, and Virginia state retirement; vacation and sick leave as well as paid holidays.
Seeking an energetic, creative, customer service-oriented professional to supervise and coordinate the Youth Services team at Handley Library The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Under the general supervision of the Branch Operations Manager, the Youth Services Supervisor selects, trains, supervises and evaluates youth services staff.  Provides professional assistance to patrons in the use of the library and its resources; assists in the maintenance of youth services collections; manages and promotes library programs and outreach activities; and develops and presents programs for youth and their parents, teachers, and caregivers.  For a full job description, click here.
Preferred: Master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited institution; Administrative and Supervisory experience

Required: Bachelor's degree and relevant library experience. Extensive knowledge of library principles, methods, materials and practices; knowledge of general reference sources and the ability to use them effectively; considerable knowledge of juvenile and young adult literature; ability to select books and materials appropriate to children of a variety of ages; ability to plan, develop and present age-appropriate programs; knowledge of computers and computer-based access tools.
40 hours/ week includes some night / weekend hours.
