Reading programs

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a year-round library program that encourages all families and caregivers to read at least 1,000 books with their young children before they enter kindergarten.

Twice a year, we have a graduation ceremony at Bowman Library to acknowledge the graduates of the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.

Come in to Bowman Library or Handley Library to sign up.

Our Winter Reading Program encourages children to read and be read to during the month of February. We will have special library events during the month, and children can earn a prize.
