BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: Irvan O?Connell Jr. was born on November 29, 1929 in Winchester, VA to Irvan O?Connell Sr. and Beatrice Heath. A Korean War veteran and a student at Harvard University and the University of Washington, O?Connell Jr. was a lifelong devotee of ancient languages and literature. He was also interested in forestry. He passed away on August 13, 2008.
