SCOPE AND CONTENT: This collection contains a variety of items associated with information about the French and Indian War, particularly in the Shenandoah Valley, including maps, essays, and news articles. Also in the collection are the newsletters of the foundation, and several programs and flyers publicizing the events that they’ve sponsored.

BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: The French and Indian War Foundation was founded in 1989 to focus attention on the early settlement history of American colonies with an emphases on the French and Indian War. Located in Winchester, VA, the foundation sponsors several local events and owns the house where Fort Loudoun, built by Lt. Col. George Washington, stood during the French and Indian War.
