SCOPE AND CONTENT: His collection consists of material on Frederick County schools, Gainesboro Post Office and, Fire Hall information, three five dollar bills from the Bank of the Valley of Virginia, 1847, and miscellaneous Bayliss and Fries family materials.

BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: E. E. Bayliss Jr. was born June 29, 1924 in Gainesboro, VA. A veteran of World War II, Bayliss was a realtor in Frederick County, VA for most of his adult life and an avid collector of items of local history. He died on June 1, 2009 and is buried in Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, VA.

His father, E. E. Bayliss Sr. was a World War I veteran and ran a general store in Gainesboro, VA. He died on January 12, 1967, and is also buried in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
