Summer is the perfect time to read for fun, and the Valley Reads summer reading program 
at Handley Regional Library is the perfect way to do it. It's for all ages--kids, teens, and adults.  

Join Bowman Library, Clarke County Library, Handley Library and their community partners
as they sponsor many fun, interactive, and educational events throughout the summer.

Kids, Teens, & Families Reading by Design!
Part of Valley Reads, infants through ages 17

Kids and teens can earn free books and electronic badges. Attend the Valley Reads Finale on Aug. 12 where top participants are selected to receive premier prizes.

How to sign up:

  • Register online May 20-Aug. 9.
  • Register in person: May 20-Aug. 9. 
    Visit Bowman Library, Clarke County Library or Handley Library.  Library staff will assist you in signing up.  Pick up your registration bag with free goodies from area agencies and businesses.

How does it work? Record your progress online by logging into your Valley Reads account at Record your reading before Aug. 9, 2017.

Kids & teens & families:

  • Earn points by entering the number of minutes read or the secret code from an event at the Library or one of our community partners. Babies and pre-readers earn points by listening to books.
  • Earn one free book for every 6 hours of logged reading.
  • Earn badges by reading, attending events, and volunteering.

Join others that have been participating in Valley Reads-Reading by Design. Special guests will congratulate you on your accomplishments. Prizes will be awarded to the summer’s top readers!
