What Have the Friends of the Library Been Up To?

Funds raised from the Friends Book Sale Room help the library to thrive and enrich its already wonderful programs and events.

Every adult, teen, and child who signed up for the 2019 Summer Reading Program was given a ‘free book coin’ to pick out any book from the Friends Book Sale room. We also sponsored and hosted the Ice Cream Social that kicked off the 2019 Summer Reading Program. Top readers received one of 10 prize booklets, so that they can enjoy a free book a week for the entire year!

All children who attended the 2019 Summer Free Lunch Program on Wednesdays received a ‘free book coin’ to choose a free book, audio book or magazine.

We completely revamped Book Sale Room! Did you know we have had a completely new inventory since March 2019? With lower prices on all items, better organization, and new categories including a Large Print section, adult and children’s magazines. We proudly offer fresh inventory weekly via the ‘New Arrivals’ book carts. Check us out today!

Another exciting feature is the creation of the FREE Paper Craft section consisting of loose book pages, covers and other paper ephemera for all your DIY art, poetry and paper craft projects. Stop in for a free bookmark made from paper materials of our DIY Paper craft section!

When we can we try to support other community organizations, like the Fox Lake Garden Club. The Friends purchased the beautiful twin flower urns that flank our library’s entrance during the spring and summer months.
