Friends Book Sale Room

The book sale room is open.

Donations are still paused. Please call the library for alternative locations to donate items.*

The Friends Book Sale Room is located on the first floor of the Fox Lake District Library at 255 E. Grand Avenue, Fox Lake, IL 60020. On any given day we have well over 1000 items to choose from. We have donated and library discards as well as free book paper for crafters.

Here is a sampling of what you’ll find in the Friends Book Sale Room on any given day: 

• Fiction hardback & paperback by genre including: mystery, romance, westerns, thrillers, historical fiction, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, horror and contemporary. We also have short story collections, the classics, graphic novels and poetry.

• Non Fiction genres range from cooking, diet/exercise, self-help, parenting, education, home improvement and décor, collecting, sports, history, including all eras of military history, science, nature, travel, animals, biography, memoir, true crime, the arts & architecture.

• How to / instruction books on many subjects including: the arts, photography, music/song books/sheet music, textile arts (sewing, needlepoint, crochet, knitting, quilting), all types of general crafting books. 

• Large Print section of both Fiction and Non Fiction titles.

• Huge selection of Children’s Books including Picture, Board, Easy, Junior and YA (Young Adult). 

• DVDs & Blu-Rays, all movie genres & TV series

• CDs including classical, soundtracks, gospel, pop, rock, country, jazz, blues, oldies, rap, dance and holiday

• Video Games

• Audio Books including fiction and nonfiction, youth, and adult

• All types of Magazines

• Free book pages and paper ephemera for your DIY art & craft projects!
