Who we are & What we do
We are a volunteer 501(c)3 group established in 1986 to help the library provide services, purchase special items, present programs and promote the joy of reading and using other media. A board (see below) leads our membership of nearly 175 single and family members.

We fund-raise, donate time and talents and otherwise cover the extras beyond the library’s annual budget.

We are proud of:

Funding all children’s and adult programs

Co sponsoring the Museum Pass program with the Scotch Plains Library Friends

Co-hosting many of the adult programs

Contributing to the recent renovation of the children’s room

Raising nearly $10,000 at our annual book sale

Providing funds for computers, projectors, and similar technology

and some small things... Providing the flowers for the Garden Club to plant for Memorial Day, refreshments for programs, and generally filling in small gaps not covered in the regular budget.

Membership
Our annual membership drive is in April. A membership forms is included in our Spring newsletter sent to everyone in Fanwood and our members in other towns.

Membership forms are also available in the library. Membership is open to all interested adults and youth – you can join any time throughout the year.

Many people join because they are library lovers and/or users and appreciate how much they get for their tax dollar.

June 13th - Annual Meeting featuring Life of Pi Academy Award Nominee for Best Adapted Screenplay, DAVID MAGEE - 7:30p.m.

Book Sale
Everyone looks forward to this annual Fall event held at Forest Road Park. Thanks to Fanwood Borough and the Senior Citizens, we can set up and sell during the last weeks of September. Save your books for our event. A special Friends night offers first grabs to our members!
