How Much is Your Library Saving YOU??

Library Value

******************************************

The Fanwood Memorial Library has been lending books to the public since 1902 beginning in a small room at the rear of the post office on North Avenue. The total inventory of books at that time was 156.

A couple of locations and additions later, the collection grew to just under 50,000 items and expanded to include DVDs, Books-on-Tape, Videos, free public high-speed access to the internet, over 100 magazine subscriptions, online access to wide variety of electronic resources and much more.

On April 21, 2005 the Fanwood Memorial Library & the Scotch Plains Public Library began an historic new Shared Services Partnership in order to provide better library service to the citizens of both communities.

The new partnership enables the two towns to share a common library automation system, services and costs in a cooperative fashion while maintaining independent municipal operations. Residents and students from both towns are now able to make full use of either facility for any of their library needs. The libraries share data systems and hardware and are creating compatible policies and procedures to provide users with seamless access to materials and services.

There's a wealth of adult and children's programming, materials and activities for Young Adults, and a growing and active Friends of the Library organization all of which is wrapped in our ongoing commitment to customer service and satisfaction.

The new Shared Services Partnership with the SPPL better serves residents of both communities by connecting you to the book, magazine, piece of information or source you are seeking to help you meet your informational and recreational needs in person... at either library... or from home through any of the links on this page.

No Question or Request is too Large or too Small!

The NEW Online Shared Catalog also lets you manage your account online.
To log into your account, just enter your 14 digit library card # (with no spaces) and your PIN# (which should be the last 4 digits of your telephone #). Once you're in, you can change your address or email or PIN if you want to, see what's out on your account and when things are due, manage your holds and more.
You can also place HOLDS on materials directly from the catalog by the same process.
If you have any questions or problems accessing your account please call the Library for assistance.

The Library is one of your most valuable municipal resources.
Come in, pick up a library card and see how much is here for you.

******************************************

In addition, Fanwood and Scotch Plains library cardholders may also go to one of the libraries with which we maintain reciprocal borrowing. These include Middlesex Union Reciprocal Associated Libraries - M.U.R.A.L. (an agreement that covers most public libraries in Middlesex and Union County).
CLICK HERE for a complete listing of participating M.U.R.A.L. Libraries.
