Meet our Youth Services Librarian

In August 2011 Jessica Garchik joined the Fairfield Public Library team as the Youth Services Librarian. She earned a Bachelors degree in English from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and went on to earn a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Iowa.

Jessi has lived most of her life in Iowa, primarily in the Quad Cities. She recently moved to Fairfield with her husband, who is also a librarian, and is enjoying meeting new people and learning about her new town.

Jessi is an avid gardener and recently completed the Master Gardener class at the Jefferson County Extension office and is excited to get to work on her volunteer hours. In addition to gardening, Jessi enjoys spending time outside with her dog Maggie. Some of her favorite books are Love in the Time of Cholera, Romeo and Juliet, the Ender’s Game series, and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
