The Friends group was formed in 1992. The purpose of the group is to create public support for maintaining and expanding quality library service, to encourage gifts and memorials for the library, to plan and carry out fundraising activities on behalf of the library, and to promote and support special programming for children and adults.
Since their inception, the Friends have purchased needed furniture and equipment for the library, sponsored special programs for adults and children, held many fundraising activities include spearheading the fund drive for the building addition, and volunteered many hours of work at the library sorting books, moving shelves, painting walls, filing, etc.
The annual meeting is held on Saturday of the weekend before Easter weekend each year. This is also the day of the annual Book and Bake Sale.
Anyone interested in the library may join. Applications are available at the library. The levels of membership are: Individual - $5, Family - $10, Organizations - $10, Leaders - $25, Benefactors - $50, and Patrons - $100.
