Join us to read one-on-one with a senior resident at Maplewood Senior Living . Each child who participates will get their name entered into a drawing for a chance to win an adult bike from Motorless Motion.

Show us your sand sculpting skills at Herrick County Park in Clare!


Bring your team of 1-6 people (families, friends, neighbors, relatives), your sand castle building tools and ideas to create your masterpiece on the beach. Registration is from 11 a.m. - noon with building from noon - 2 p.m.

Free snacks and drinks for participants. Judging takes place at 2 p.m. with winners announced after. Winners will receive sand buckets filled with multiple prizes! Stop out and join the fun!

Free admission to the park on this day - just let them know you are there for the event!

From 'Capture the Flag' to 'Eliminator' to the 'Zombies Vs. Humans,' players will put their physical and mental skills to the test with several game styles perfect for any size group or venue, indoors or out. 

We provide all NERF equipment including blasters, darts, team vests, safety goggles, and obstacles along with a friendly Host who will set-up, tear-down, and referee all of the exciting NERF action!

The Shepherd Community Friends of the Library are hosting their annual one-day motor coach tour on Saturday, August 5. This year's destination is Traverse City, with tours of the Village at Grand Traverse Commons, the Music House Museum, and the GT Butterfly House and Bug Zoo. The cost is $100.00 per person. The trip includes deluxe round trip motor coach transportation, a guided tour of the Village at Grand Traverse Commons, lunch, time on our own for shopping at GT Commons, admission with guided tour of the Music House Museum, and admission to GT Butterfly House & Bug Zoo.

 

Pick-up locations are as listed:

Alma - Park and Ride across from Big Boy at 6:00 a.m.
Shepherd - Football Field Parking lot on the west side of the high school
at the end of Second Street at 6:25 a.m.
Mt. Pleasant - Meijer Parking Lot, Pole B at 6:50 a.m.
Clare - Park and Ride on East Colonville Road at 7:30 a.m.
