CRDL - Veterans Memorial Library

The greatest honor we can give to those who died in service to our country is to remember their sacrifice. During our Google Expedition, you have the opportunity to dig into the past and experience the history of WWI and WWII in a unique 3D setting. First, we will visit a recreated trench system to learn about trench warfare. Then we will go to preserved trenches at a battlefield in France, travel to the North Sea to learn about the naval war, and take stock of the aftermath and costs of the war. We will then view historical photographs to learn about some of the key events of World War II. We'll visit Pearl Harbor, see how the war changed life on the home front, and explore the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site. Then learn about D-Day, the war in the Pacific and the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Not intended for viewers under 8 years old.

Earth is one of eight planets in our solar system that rotates around the sun. As it turns in space, the side closest to the sun receives light, which we call day. The side furthest from the sun is dark, which we call night. Most animals on Earth, including humans, are affected by this light and dark cycle.  We'll meet Diurnal, Nocturnal, and Crepuscular animals, and discover how they've adapted to live during different periods of the light and dark cycles, as the Earth turns from day to night, and back again.
