Who better represents friendship than Han Solo and Chewbacca? Join us as we celebrate National Best Friends Day, Star Wars-style. Enjoy a "Chewy" chocolate chip cookie with milk in a solo cup. Make a friendship pin and a Star Wars themed craft. Try out your flying skills with our paper airplane Death Star game and perfect your aim with our Nerf Blaster game. Don't forget to stop by the photo booth! Star Wars costumes and attire are encouraged.

It's Yo-yo Time! For two centuries the yo-yo has remained the most popular fad toy all Around the World. Over half a billion yo-yos have been sold and kids have invented thousands of tricks. Some tricks were made up while people rocked their babies and others while they walked their dogs. Many of the basic tricks were incorporated into a song about yo-yos that kids can sing along with.

Experience big trucks from the best place - the driver's seat! Kids (and parents) can touch, climb on and into a backhoe, dump truck, sweeper truck, vacuum truck and more at the Division of Public Work's Open House.

Storytime starts at 10 a.m. with kid-friendly activity centers following. Refreshments, give-a-ways, and goodie bags (while supplies last) will be available. Tour the facility, too!


The Division of Public Works is located at 1303 N Franklin St.

Chippewa River District Library is teaming up with Barberi Law Firm to offer kids the opportunity to give back to their community.  

Join us to read one-on-one with a senior resident at Isabella County Medical Care Facility. Each child who participates will get their name entered into a drawing for a chance to win an adult bike from Motorless Motion.

Registration is required.

One bike will be given away to a girl and one to a boy. Winners will be notified in August. For more information click here.
