Genealogy/County History

Computer and Internet Access:
CFL offers free computer and Wi-Fi access to all patrons. There are 16 terminals in the upstairs computer lab and 2 terminals in the children's room. The computers are HP Pro 3500 series with Windows 7 iOS. Available software includes Microsoft Office 2013 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher), Google Chrome, Firefox, Windows DVD Maker, and Adobe Reader XI.

Patrons can print from computers in the public computer lab. For patrons using personal computers on the wireless network, please transfer your files to a lab computer for printing.

Black and White pages--$0.25 ea.
Color pages--$0.75 ea.
NOTE: Patrons are expected to pay for all printouts, even mistakes.

Please ask a staff member to operate the copy machine.

Black and white copies--$0.25 ea.
Color copies--$0.75 ea.
Faxes are $1.00 per page. Our cover page is free, just ask for one!

Clarion Free Library is an authorized passport acceptance facility. If you plan to apply for a passport, please contact the library (at 814-226-7172) before your visit to ensure that a passport acceptance agent is available.

Interlibrary Loan:
Items not housed in CFL's collection may be requested from other libraries using the Interlibrary Loan service. Please complete an ILL request form at the circulation desk. Donations to support the ILL service are appreciated. The loan period for ILLs is 2 weeks from pick-up. ILLs cannot be renewed.

Genealogy Queries:
CFL staff will perform genealogical searches for specific materials or information, such as obituaries or birth dates. The search fee for each specific search is $10.00. Advance payment is required. Please contact library staff for details. Make checks payable to Clarion Free Library.

Sales Room:
The sales room is open during the library's regular operating hours. It contains paperbacks, hardbacks, music CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks. Items are a mix of donations and former library materials. All proceeds benefit the library.

Paperbacks--$1.00 ea.
Hardbacks--$2.00 ea.
DVDs--$2.00 ea.
Audiobooks--$5.00 ea.
*Prices for children's books are negotiable.*

Meeting Room:
The library's meeting room (located near the children's room on the first floor) is available for use by the public. Please contact the library, at 814-226-7172, for information regarding fees and dates available. NOTE: The library has first priority in use of the meeting room.
