At the start of this riveting novel of suspense from McKenzie (The Good Liar), the five MacAllister siblings-Ryan, Margaux, Mary, Liddie, and Kate-return to their family's rural Canadian property, Camp Macaw, to attend a memorial service for their parents, who recently died in a train accident. According to their father's will, Mr. MacAllister believed that Ryan was responsible for an attack on camp counselor Amanda Holmes 20 years earlier, though the police cleared Ryan of any wrongdoing. In order for Ryan to receive his share of the property, his four sisters must unanimously agree on his innocence; if they don't, Ryan's share will go to longtime camp employee Sean Booth, who expects Mr. MacAllister to take care of him based on a long-ago promise. As the siblings seek answers to Amanda's assault, they discover that their father had been keeping investigative files on all the campers, including his own children. Twists and turns and plenty of red herrings keep the reader guessing. McKenzie once again delivers the thriller goods. Agent: Abigail Koons, Park & Fine Literary and Media.
