Online Resources

A variety of databases and online resources are available for library patrons through the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library's internet service provider, MoreNet.  Access to these databases is possible from a public access computer in the library. Ebsco Host, HeritageQuest, and Learning Express Library are available from any computer on the Internet by clicking on the links below or from the links located at the bottom of the home page.

 

Ebsco Host:

Ebsco Host provides research & educational resources, and a variety of searchable databases. Databases include: Academic Search Elite, Book Collection: Nonfiction (Elementary, Middle, & High School Editions, Consumer Health Complete, eBook Public Library Collection & eBooks Mobile App, ERIC, Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, MAS Ultra--School Edition, MasterFILE Premier, MEDLINE, Middle Search Plus, Newspaper Source, Primary Search, Professional Development Collection, Science Reference Center, Explora (Elementary, Middle, & High School, Educators Edition, and General Research & eBooks).

 

HeritageQuest

HeritageQuest® Online is a comprehensive database of American genealogical sources—rich in unique primary sources, local and family histories, and finding aids. It delivers an essential collection of genealogical and historical sources—with coverage dating back to the 1700s.

 

Learning Express Library: 

LearningExpress Library is designed to help people succeed on the tests they must pass to gain citizenship, improve their testing skills or to further their education or career. Over 300 online academic and licensing practice tests including SAT, ACT, GRE, HiSET, LSAT, Advanced Placement, civil service, military, real estate, law enforcement, citizenship, TOEFL, ESL and basic skills for elementary, middle and high school skills improvement and much more. Test preparation materials span ages from elementary through adult. This testing resource also provides instant scoring and customized feedback.
