 About the Library
The Aurora Branch Library joined the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library System in 1979. Population of the Lawrence County community is 6,459. Aurora is often called the "Summit City of the Ozarks", because it was built on the apex of a range of the Ozark Mountains at 1400 feet above sea level.

The Aurora Branch Library is located at 202 Jefferson Street in Aurora, MO, two blocks east of the city courthouse. The library has over 35,226 volumes.

Schedule of Events

 Preschool Story Time
Wednesdays 10:30 AM --

Story Time for three- to five-year olds is held mid-September through mid-May, with a two-week break over the Christmas holidays. No pre-registration necessary.

Toddler Story Time "Toddler Time"
Wednesdays 10:00 AM 

"Toddler Time" is for toddlers up to 3 years of age and is held mid-September through mid-May, with a two-week break over the Christmas holidays. No pre-registration necessary.

Home School
Tuesdays 2:00 pm 

This program is designed as a supplement for the enrichment of those children who are being home schooled. Home School is held from mid-September through mid-May, with a two-week break over the Christmas holidays. No pre-registration necessary.

Movie Time

Last Saturday of month

 

Show newer movies as available. Popcorn provided for all.

Movies are projected on a wall, so you get the "theater" experience.

 

 

Inspirational Book Club

Every third Thursday

This club meets in the library community room.

There is always an interesting program offered as well as a treat.

Books to Go

Volunteer drivers make regularly scheduled deliveries of books, audio books, CDs and videos in the Aurora area.

 

Bazaar

First weekend of December usually

 

The Friends of the Library help make crafts for a yearly bazaar and book sale.

 

 Friends of the Library
The Aurora "Friends" group is an active support unit. They sponsor children`s programs and supply funds for library projects. Anyone who loves the library may be a Friend and provide support. Annual dues are: $5.00 Individual, $10.00 Family, $25.00 Patron, $50.00 Benefactor.
