Preschool Story Time
Tot/Preschool story time will introduce your child to books and the public library. We will read, act out simple stories, make crafts, and have lots of fun! Group experiences help your child develop language and listening skills.
Story time sessions are held in the children's room on the main floor or in the downstairs community room.
Tot time is for ages 1 to 3 years old and preschool time is for ages 3 to 5 years old.
Story time sessions start promptly at their scheduled time and are 30 to 45 minutes in length. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to remain in the library during story time. Children, who are unwilling to be separated from parents, may be accompanied for the first two sessions. Parents or caregivers may be asked to assist with special holiday celebrations by bringing prepackaged cookies or treats.
This program is designed as a supplement for the enrichment of school age children who are being home schooled. Books and stories are used to introduce and explore a variety of subjects. We may discuss myths, legends, folk tales, poetry, mysteries and others.
This program is for ages 6 years to 12th grade. children ages 3 to 5 are encouraged to participate in the preschool story time session.
