Meet the Director
Hello, I am Glenda Hunt, Director of the Adair County Public Library. I am privileged to be the second director ever to serve Adair County Public Library.
My public library career started in January, 1974, as a book shelver and then progressed through many positions including circulation clerk, administrative assistant and then assistant director. I completed my Master of Library Science degree from the University of Iowa in May, 1991, prior to coming to Kirksville on June 1, 1991. Even with over 30 years of library experience, every day brings a new challenge, plus I learn something new whether it be a new fact or a new face.
An American Library Association slogan, “Libraries Change Lives,” best describes my philosophy of library service. There is something in every library that can change a life. It is my challenge to connect that “something” whether it is a book or information to change your life.
I don’t do this alone but with the help of a great Library staff and Library Board of Trustees that want you to “Discover, Explore and Experience” your Library.
