The Clarence Dillon Public Library welcomes and encourages children of all ages to appropriately utilize library facilities. However, to help ensure the safety of children, the library has established the following policy:
A responsible caregiver must remain with children 8 and under at all times while on library property, without exception.
Children age 9 and over may use all age-appropriate library facilities, but library staff can not be in any way responsible for the safety and well-being of unattended children of any age. Note: The upstairs computers are intended for use by adults.
No children of any age are allowed in library storage rooms, library staff areas or the Anne O'Brein Historical Research Room, unless accompanied by library staff. Children seeking local history information must seek the assistance of the Children's Librarian or Reference Librarian. Children may not use the elevator without adult supervision.
As a Public institution, CDPL offers free access to all persons. With this in mind, we hope you'll agree that the safety of your children is far more important than any other factor regarding library use. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
