Membership: Free to residents of Bedminster and Far Hills with proof of residency. Nonresident memberships are $45.00 per family annually. Courtesy memberships are available for nonresident children attending Bedminster School or Far Hills Country Day School. Starting in 2009 a free membership is available to nonresidents employed in Bedminster or Far Hills, with proof of employment. Teachers and administrators, and municipal employees of the two towns are exempt from the membership fee. Senior citizens (62+) receive a 50% discount onmembership fees. The library reserves the right to revoke the privileges of members failing to observe library policies.
Reserves: Members may reserve items (except videos), which must be picked up within 3 days of notification. Items not picked up within that time will be given to the next person on the waiting list, or returned to the shelves.
Interlibrary Loan: Members may request items from other libraries. A $2.00 fee is required for items borrowed from out of state. Limit: 5 items per week.
Loans & Limits: Adult fiction, nonfiction, paperbacks, children's books, audio cassettes, and CDs have a loan period of 14 days. Instructional videos and magazines, 7 days. Entertainment videos, 2 days. Adult nonfiction is limited to 5 items per subject. Magazines and audio cassettes: 5. Videos and CDs: 4.
Fines & Fees: The fine imposed on overdue items is $0.10 (ten cents per item, per day), with the exception of videos: $1.00 (one dollar per item, per day) and magazines: $0.05 (five cents per item, per day). Patrons who do not return materials are expected to pay the replacement cost of the item, accumulated fines, plus $2.50.
